1. Who we are and these terms

PuckBoss is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [MAILING ADDRESS] ("we", "us"). These terms apply when you use puckboss.com and the PuckBoss game ("PuckBoss"). By using PuckBoss you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use PuckBoss. Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy also apply.

2. Who can use PuckBoss

You must be at least 13 years old [confirm minimum age]. To buy PuckBoss Pro you must be an adult where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission, and they accept these terms for you.

3. The game

• It's a simulation. Player ratings, results, injuries, contracts, trades and everything else that happens in your league are produced by the game. They are not predictions, evaluations of real people, or statements of fact.
• Fictional characters. Owners, general managers, agents, coaches' remarks, media personalities, JENI and other characters in the game are fictional. Any resemblance to real people is coincidental.
• Real teams and players. [LICENSING STATEMENT: for example, "NHL, the NHL Shield and NHL team names and logos are trademarks of the National Hockey League and its teams, used under license." Use the exact wording your license agreements require, and add the statement required for player names and likenesses if you have that license.]
• Changes. We keep improving PuckBoss, so features may change, be added or be removed. We'll try to keep your existing leagues working when we update the game.

4. Your leagues and backups

PuckBoss has no accounts. Your leagues are saved in your browser's storage on your device. Browsers can delete stored data (for example, iPhone Safari may clear a website's data after about a week without a visit), and we can't see or restore it. Use the backup feature in Settings to keep copies. We aren't responsible for leagues lost from your device.

5. JENI, the AI assistant GM

JENI's replies are generated by artificial intelligence and may be wrong, incomplete or unexpected. They're for entertainment inside the game. Don't rely on them for real-world decisions. You agree not to use JENI to create harmful, illegal or abusive content, to harass anyone, or to try to get around its limits. Free players get a daily number of JENI messages; Pro's larger allowance is subject to fair use (currently up to 400 messages a day). We may limit or suspend JENI for anyone who abuses it.

6. PuckBoss Pro

• What it is. An optional subscription with extra features, described on the Pro page in the game. The full game remains free without it.
• Billing. Pro is billed in advance, monthly or yearly, at the price shown at checkout, plus any applicable taxes. Payments are processed by Stripe.
• Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. We'll tell you before any price change takes effect for you.
• Launch pricing. A first-year discount, when offered, applies to the first year only. Renewals are at the regular price.
• Cancelling. Cancel any time with "Manage subscription" in the game. Pro stays on until the end of the period you've paid for, and then it ends. Your leagues are never deleted when Pro ends.
• Refunds. See our Refund Policy.
• Codes. Gift or promo codes have no cash value and can't be resold.

7. Fair use

You agree not to: attack, overload, scrape or try to break into PuckBoss or its servers; interfere with other people's use; use bots or automated tools against our servers; send false, abusive or illegal content in bug reports or to JENI; or try to unlock paid features without paying. Playing your own single-player league however you like is fine.

8. Our content

PuckBoss, including its software, design, text, graphics, the PuckBoss name and logo, and the JENI character, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable permission to use PuckBoss for your own non-commercial entertainment. You may share screenshots and share cards from the game. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.

9. Disclaimers

PuckBoss is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that PuckBoss will be uninterrupted, error-free or available on every device.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data (including leagues), and our total liability for any claim relating to PuckBoss is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $20 [currency]. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

11. Ending

You can stop using PuckBoss any time. We may suspend or end access to our online features (such as JENI, Pro or bug reports) for anyone who breaks these terms. If we ever shut PuckBoss down, we'll give reasonable notice, and paid subscribers will receive a prorated refund of any unused period. [your choice: keep or change this promise]

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll tell players in the game. If you keep using PuckBoss after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of [Manitoba] and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of that province, unless the consumer protection laws where you live give you the right to other rules or courts.
